A year ago today I had just completed the eval that resulted in this website. A year later, we've come a long way.

The truth is coming out and a pattern of heavy deceit has emerged. It is no exaggeration to say that David Miscavige has been lying to us from the start with nearly unimaginable malice... a malice that freely lied to LRH for the last five years of his life, that took out Mary Sue Hubbard and made her an outcast, that destroyed the lives of so many Scientologists and now the repute of Scientology as a whole. The more we learn, the more the treason roils before us like a mushroom cloud.

So today, on the anniversary of LRH's birthday, it is surely fitting to learn more about LRH's final years. I received this document from a friend just tonight and read it for the first time. I believe it was written some time ago. I don't know how old it is. But it's from the auditor who saved LRH's life in 1978 and it is certainly time his story was told.

Recollections

By David Mayo

AS YOU PROBABLY ARE aware, I used to hold the post of Senior C/S Flag. That was until the end of 1978. Let me start this narrative article from that point.

In September of 1978. I was sitting in my office one day C/Sing some folders and a messenger came into the office with a telex which was one of these very secret “your eyes only” telexes. So I grabbed some clothes, raced off to the airport at Tampa and caught a plane to Los Angeles. I arrived in Los Angeles at night. As I'm sure you all know, the Sea Org places a great significance on what they call security. There was to be one security-cleared person meeting me at the airport and nobody else was supposed to know he was coming to meet me. It was very confidential and I had to go with him. I was still quite mystified as to why I was being called to California. We took off down the highway and headed off toward Palm Springs.

A security breach!

After we got started down the freeway he said, "Look, no offense or anything, but you have to wear these dark glasses". I said, "Why? It's night time". He has a pair of sunglasses they'd sprayed aluminum paint on the inside of so that you couldn't see through them and he wanted me to put these on so I wouldn't see where we were going as it was so secret that even I shouldn't know. It was about one o'clock in the morning by this time and I'd been flying for many hours and could do with some sleep. I put the glasses on and dozed off. We eventually came to the exit we were going to take near Palm Springs and the driver almost overshot it. He hit the brakes suddenly and I was jostled and the glasses flew off just as the sign came up on the freeway that said "Indio Exit". I picked up the glasses and put them back on. The guy who was driving said “Oh God! I hope you didn't see that sign”. I said, “Well, you'd get into trouble if I did, wouldn’t you?” "Yeah". He said. I responded, “Then I didn’t see anything about Indio". And he said, “Oh, great”.

Hubbard ill

Finally we arrived at the headquarters of CMO Int, La Quinta at about four o’clock in the morning. I was taken into the house where LRH was living and was told that LRH had become quite ill and they were concerned whether he was going to live or not and that was why I had been brought there. I had some of his folders given to me, I studied them and got ready to give him a session. It had been some time since I had seen LRH. When I went into his bedroom I must admit I got quite a shock, because the last time I'd seen him he'd been full of energy and active and it was a surprise to see him lying on his back in the bed and in the physical condition he was in.

I had some folders and the main thing that I could see from the folders was that he’d been having quite a lot of auditing on NED and that there were various strange indications. His TA had been getting higher and higher and the needle had been getting tighter. Various somatics had been turning on and the more somatics that turned on, the more they'd try and run these somatics out with NED and then more somatics would turn on, and so on.

Hubbard's condition and handling it

He wasn't able to speak. He was lying there almost in a coma although he had his eyes open. When I went into the room and said hello to him his eyes flickered and he gave a little smile. I put the cans in his hands. From the folder I'd ascertained certain things that were probably the cause of the bypassed charge and I'd written up a little C/S. The first thing I did was ask these questions to locate the bypassed charge. His TA was up around five or five and a quarter and the needle was almost stuck. I had to have the sensitivity cranked up to get any reads and when I checked through my list of possible sources of bypassed charge and got something that read, I indicated it and the TA came down about a quarter of a division, and we got a very, very small F/N, at which point I ended the first assist.

Then about an hour or two later I did another short assist session, and this time at the end of that session he was talking. Two hours later I did the third session. During that session he got up out of bed and sat in the chair and it lasted for about a quarter of an hour and we got normal F/N at the session end. He was starting to smile and even cracked a little joke. From then on in September '78 I audited him daily. Usually about two sessions a day, sometimes three sessions a day, for quite some time thereafter.

Because my post was Senior C/S Flag and I had been absent for some time from Flag, people were starting to ask questions as to where I was. The CMO decided to invent a “shore story”. A “shore story” is Sea Org slang for a story that is false. It's intended to give people something to think about so that they won't consider the real reason.

Where am I?

Anyway, it wasn't a very big secret for very long and at that point I still didn't know where I was located. They'd done all sorts of funny things there at CMO Int. They had taken all the local newspapers away and disconnected the TV in case I'd accidentally see what channels were on, but they left all the telephone books beside the telephones. Then one day I said that a friend of mine's birthday was coming up and I wanted to be able to go to town and buy a birthday present and mail it off. So somebody said, “Oh sure”. And I got in the car with them and we went into town and bought a birthday present and then at some time later it was decided that it would be okay for me to know where I was.

NED for OTs (NOTs)

Regarding the auditing I was doing on LRH in September '78, it was out of that auditing that the whole subject of NOTs, or Ned for OTs, was developed. Within a month LRH had fully recovered his health and was active again. That was an extremely pleasing thing, and I felt it was a great honor at the time to have been his auditor and C/S throughout that period. I did the auditing and I also C/Sed the folder between sessions because there wasn't anybody else to do it.

Most of the techniques I was using at the time, had to be developed between each session. Initially I set out to help him recover his health and that was accomplished. Then from that point on we started to discover that we were making some very astounding gains with this auditing. And then he asked me to make it possible for other people to get trained on these techniques so it could be released, and Scientologists generally would be able to get this same rundown. So in late November and December of 1978 he asked me to write up all of the techniques and processes and all the technical data involved so it could be exported.

Most of my days at that time were spent either auditing him or getting the next C/S ready for the next session, or typing up the materials that had been run thus far. Then I'd go into his office and we'd sit down and he would read over the write-ups, which later became HCOBs. He would read over them and we would discuss them and sometimes he would make additions to them or change the writing style so that it would more closely emulate his. By late December the majority of it was completed. We had a check sheet together and a mission was sent off to Flag to train the first NOTs auditors at Flag. I was still auditing LRH at the time so other people were sent on that mission and then, toward the end of it, I flew out there and helped do the final training on them, and the training of the C/Ses who were going to C/S it.

That was the release of NED for OTs in the end of 1978 and early 1979. Flag, and later the AOs, got a tremendous boom throughout 1979 on NOTs. That went on for some years.

After the release of NOTs at Flag in early ‘79 I continued auditing LRH. There were further developments and refinements as we went along. There is a tremendous amount of the original research data and techniques that have actually never been released. Now and then we occasionally hear of a “new discovery” but from what I’ve heard of them I don’t think they’re that new.

Solo NOTs

I audited LRH up through June 1979, at which point he completed his audited NOTs and went on to what was later called Solo NOTs. One of the things that was necessary to develop in order for him to be able to do Solo was a meter that would pick up the very fine reads that one gets at that level on a pair of solo cans. You see, when I started auditing him on NOTs, there was no such thing as a Mark VI meter. There was only a Mark V. And that was adequate if a person was holding two cans, one in each hand. But when we attempted to see if he could solo audit on a Mark V, reads wouldn’t show up and he would have to hold the cans in two hands and then you’d see a read. We often would test it and it seemed at the time that the whole of NOTs would have to be audited on somebody by an auditor. It seemed like it wouldn’t be possible to solo audit it because of this inability of the Mark V meter to pick up reads with just a solo can.

So he sent some instructions off and some people at Pubs Org at Los Angeles started working on developing a more sensitive meter. Then it became possible for him to go on to Solo and he began what later became Solo NOTs. I C/Sed his folder on Solo NOTs and occasionally when he ran into something I'd be called and would go in there and do a review session.

Auditing LRH

Auditing LRH was quite an experience in itself. I don't know whether I could adequately describe it. It was extremely enlightening. I'm sure those of you who are auditors know how interesting it is to audit any pc on anything, and see the pc go along running something and suddenly have a cognition. With LRH it was a similar sort of thing only about a hundred times more so. And so each day I'd wonder what new cognition or discovery would unfold in the session.

I used to have a tremendous number of cognitions sitting there auditing LRH. He'd be running something and he'd say, "No, it's not really like that. It must be like this". And then he'd go. "Oh yes!" And then he'd run a time when something to do with that occurred. And then something else. And then he'd suddenly cognite and then I'd sit there listening to this, and I'd think, "Oh my God! Yeah, that's right." I think I got at least as many cognitions from auditing him as I did from sessions on myself.

I C/Sed him on his Solo NOTs and he eventually completed the level and later asked me to write up all the materials related to Solo NOTs and export it. I did this towards the end of 1980. Solo NOTs was then released to the world. I got an enormous amount of experience during that time, not just on the subject of NOTs and Solo NOTs, but also on how one goes about researching new technology and developing it. After LRH completed Solo NOTs he continued on with solo auditing, researching the levels above that and eventually completed up through OT 11.

Plans for the future

It should be mentioned, at this point, that LRH kept me informed regarding his research basically because he wanted me to be able to continue on with that technical hat and assume it fully when he left the body. I received in April 1982 a very significant dispatch from LRH. It was approximately twenty pages long. In it, he described what he anticipated in the future and specifically over the next twenty to twenty five years. He stated that he wanted me to carry on and release the new OT levels at the appropriate time. He actually turned the hat over.

He also told me at the time that he expected to live for a minimum of a few months, perhaps a couple of years at the most, and there were paragraphs in which he told me not to get upset about the idea of his dropping his body and pointed out (and I'm mentioning this because I think it's relevant and I think most people should know it) that it wasn't something to be sad about.

David's hat

He said that he'd accomplished what he'd set out to accomplish in this lifetime, which was basically to map out the bridge. He wanted to go on and be able to start a new game. And he also estimated that he would be gone for some time. He didn't say doing what. He asked me basically to look after three things concerning the tech. One was overseeing the quality of delivery of tech by other people and to ensure that high quality delivery continued.

A second thing was that I was to look over the actual technical materials from time to time, because they would require updating as society changed. And thirdly, at suitable times in the future, I was requested to release the as-yet-unreleased OT levels. He made an important point. This was that by the time I and others had gotten up through these levels, we would find that it was possible to continue on with the research ourselves, and that he felt that the future was now secure. He didn't have to be around forever to continue on mapping the route out. He had done enough. And he therefore felt that he'd fulfilled his goals and what he referred to as his obligations to mankind, and could go and do something else. He did say that he would check back in twenty to twenty-five years to ensure it was all going well.

There is another aspect of that dispatch which I don't think has been mentioned before. Although it didn't seem very significant at the time, a few months after that I got another dispatch from him. It was more of an administrative dispatch rather than technical. He asked me to start thinking about how I might best organize myself and my staff in order to be able to fulfill the duties he had stated in the earlier dispatch. He said I would have to organize things differently from the way they were. There was a little explanation to the effect that people who were involved in tech and people who were involved in administration often don't see things the same way and he pointed out that the technical people often are more concerned with the purity of the tech and its application, whereas some of the administrative people have their attention on stats more than the tech and this can cause a variance.

I believe it was quite understated. It said that it could cause a variance or a difference in viewpoints on how things should be done. And, as I say, some of the full significance of it didn't dawn on me at the time. But he said that in addition to thinking about how to organize my unit so as to be able to fulfill the purposes and duties that he'd laid out in the earlier dispatch, I should also consider a possibly different corporate and organizational basis in which to operate. I won't go so far as to say that he predicted or necessarily suggested what was to occur later. But looking back on it now, it may well be that way, that he may have anticipated what was going to happen in the next few years and the rest of '82 and '83 up to the present.

Thank you so much for posting this.

This and other recent posts have been very helpful in sorting out fact from fiction concerning how we got to where we are today.

David comes across as sane and credible, a real Tech terminal. If he had been able to follow the path that LRH had laid out for him, we would have today in the Church something so much closer to the real spirit of Scientology than what we do have.

The fact that it was David Mayo that LRH called on when he was in trouble speaks volumes about him.

Thoughtful --- OM(F)G!!!

Now it makes PERFECT sense -- I didn't even connect the dots but you and others probably did.

CANCEL Clear for all the OTS -- and thereby allow them to get NED auditing -- it THIS true? Are OT getting NED audting -- not NED for OTS but just plain powerful laser lightning NED?

If this is the case -- its actually a miracle that all OT IIIs and above who are audited on NED aren't DEAD.

Honestly, I've never experienced headaches before in my life -- and never again since then BUT during those NED sessions - I was beyond pain.

Perhaps some of the OTs on this blog and others who had their Clear certs canceled can weigh in on what NED auditing they then received.

I was a pc at Flag receiving NED in 1978 -- it was lightening itself. Loved my first few seasons.

And THEN -- the mass moved in and I thought I was going to die. I begged, pleaded and cried with my auditor - Sue Walker to just PLEASE let me end the season and go to sleep.

This went on for days -- and finally by my GOOD LUCK -- I was called on Mission and whew -- that was it for NED auditing.

During my Mission briefing the HCOB on not auditing OTs on NED came out. Heaven!!! I was spared future outrageous headaches and possibly worse.

This story about LRH on his death bed is 100% real to me.

Wonderful that David Mayo has sent you thism thoughtful ... and yes ... I'm sure LRH knew what the future without him just might become.

Fortunately enough people remembered what LRH wanted to achieve and have come back to guide the ship.

Love,
WH

Hi WH,

I guess that's why Miscavige started canceling Clear attests and putting OTs back on NED.

Actually I didn't receive the article from David Mayo. All I know is I read the black PR written against Mayo by David Miscavige nearly 30 years ago. And based on what I know about Miscavige, only a dedicated fool would not realize he has been force-fed false data. The consistent pattern I saw and experienced with my own eyes at Int from 1984 to 2004, and as far as I know ALL the data Miscavige ever put out, was embroidered false data.

Miscavige's primary black PR about Mayo was that Mayo was trying to be the new "Source." Well, who is the new Source now, even senior to LRH? David Miscavige.

I have seen so much of Miscavige's black PR on everyone I know at Int including myself. Sometimes it's easy to forget that all these people were essentially volunteers; selflessly devoted Scientologists willing to give up having a normal life to accomplish a greater good.

Like everyone else, Mayo agreed to live in the poverty in the Sea Org. The only person I know who didn't do that was David Miscavige. His income figures from even as early as 1989 showed him making $60,000 a year. I doubt I even earned $2,000 that year.

Miscavige didn't suddenly "become" an SP. Now that he has been exposed, per the Hubbard Chart of Human Evaluation, per the PTS/SP materials, we can predict that everything Miscavige ever wrote or said was either an outright lie, or outright propaganda designed to weaken his rivals -- like Mary Sue Hubbard -- and strengthen and confirm his power.

I am applying the LRH datum from the Way to Happiness, Look. See what you see, not what someone tells you that you see.

I'm curious why DM hasn't released at least something he calls OT IX and OT X. It would be a huge money-spinner for him.

Paul

# Fellow Traveller 2010-03-13 06:52
Well, here's your answer Paul:
"This is a simple statement of facts:

"Superpower is coming this year. OT IX is coming this year. These are stated objectives from Int Management, and the SO teams involved are flat out to make these happen."

This was news via email from a Flag Office.

Funny you ask. There is that story about Pat Broeker asking Mayo to do something exactly like this.

Now that we can predict DM's behavior, who wants to to be among the first to do these?

Wow! I started in Scientology in '91 so all I ever heard of Mayo was that he was a squirrel. However, this essay and the videos I've seen on You Tube, paint a different picture of this man. What is he up to these days?

Speaking of stats, perhaps we should compare David Miscavage's stats with those of Heaven's Gate.
And on the subject of a new corporate structure, I believe that will become obvious in the next 24 months, after the dust settles on the old corporate structure. (I believe David Miscavage will be going to the Big House to become Bubba's new bitch by then, and the old corporate structure will be bankrupted by class action suits in response to D. M.'s taking over of the technical hat from Mayo)

I go back to the mid 70s. Was on staff in Hawaii.

I always found it amazing that LRH's personal Auditor, David Mayo, would be declared an SP. I'm not sure of the time line, but was it Little Dicky (DM) that did it? And, how, I ask you, could LRH not know that his personal auditor was a squirrel?

Are all the best people from the old days now gone or declared? Is DM the true definition of a sociopath?

Of course, the last line is rhetorical.

Wow Thoughtful that was great!!

I had read a debried from David Mayo a few months ago and got this reality then. The whole 3-D engram keeps dissolving. It would be intersting to find out if LRH was getting sec checked every 6 months while he was on Solo Nots, somehow I doubt it. Wouldn't that be standard tech? Why would it be good for us to be sec checked every 6 months and not LRH?

I recieved NED auditing while on Solo Nots and did not get any adverse effects from it, but that doesnt mean it was a correct action. Very few things can cause me bad mental reactions, with the exception of constant and continual sec checking. It is like a horrible overrun and an inval and eval of your beingness and basic goodness.

I appreciate your tenacity Steve for all your work and dedication and intelligence. I have longed for someone in the group to spot real WHY's and handlings for a very long time now. I know you don't have to be doing this but am very glad that you are.

ML,
Alex Metheny

Alex,
Odd that you should mention this phenomenon on sec checking. I recently encountered something similar and discovered there is a clear-like state on running overts. In NED running out the postulates stripped away the engrams and made clears. Because considerations, postulates and opinions are the basis of overts more than actions, you can eventually get to a native state on the subject. Thus running more overts merely acts very much like running engrams after going clear. I realize that even after going clear we can still have physical and emotional difficulties, which can be handled elsewhere. Same applies to O/W's.
Rehabbing this clear-on-overts condition gave me more gains than going clear. It really boosted theta perceptions. There's a lot more about this, but that's for another forum.

# AlexMetheny 2010-03-15 00:09
Hi Michael,

Thanks for the comm.

I am not sure about the native state on O/W's but I do believe that they have there place in case gain. I also believe they can be interposed where they do not belong or can be enforced onto one and create very bad effects. I re-read C/S series 73 tonight about not mixing major actions and what should be run in the non-interference zones. To me clearly the 6 month sec-check line is a clear violation of the tech. I have seen many BI's pre-OT's at Flag coming out of these enforced O/W festivals.

In my opinion they are used for monetary gain and political purposes for the most part. If it really was for "security" it isn't working and shoud be abandoned just based on that.

If you had reasonably priced auditing and had the auditing done with only the care of the PC or pre-OT in mind I think you would have a very different scene than what you will find in the C of M today.

# OnceUponaTime 2010-03-15 06:49
Alex,

Understood. Every level and action has an EP. My comment to you was just an observation about what I had run into, which might indicate to others. Far too much O/R on O/W's. Far too many bad indicators. Far too much make-wrong as regards running overts. Lot of theory behind this in the basics. Some has to do with viewpoints and getting back into valence vs. perceiving the world through a third dynamic consideration (a type of viewpoint.) Getting back into valence always improves perception and ability to be audited. I believe the L's address postulates in regards to overts. But, like I said, this isn't the forum for addressing the fine points of tech. But, it is a forum for expressing hope and expansion.

Much love,
Michael

Mayo wasn't perfect but he was a hell a lot better than what passes today for "technical supervision" and "quality control".

He didn't invalidate auditors, either which seems to be the current trend in the organization these days.

Yes Alex you can get away with running lower level Dianetics on cases. This was done during the development of Standard Dianetics and ExDn.

However, NED changed all that for some reason or let's just say reasons PreOTs had trouble running it. A lot!

Besides lower level Dianetics wasn't designed to handle an OT as an OT. NOTs was.

That said.

Putting someone on lower level NED who has run III, even if they didn't go clear is pretty much asking for trouble.

Yeah you might get away with it. Just like you might get away with auditing power or VA on someone who is clear or running AESPs on Int.

It's the same sorta thing.

Regarding Sec Checks.

Originally 6 months checks weren't Sec Checks. They were ...well six months checks, usually a D of P and any review if needed then back on the level. Not what they call "six months checks" now.

More accurately they could call it what CIA euphemistically calls torture, i.e. "enhanced interrogation techniques".

# AlexMetheny 2010-03-14 15:17
Hi RJ,

Ya, they might as well call them 6 month sec checks. And I don't think LRH was getting them. I agree the way they are done and mixed with Solo Nots is out tech to say the least and it is like some CIA interrogation technique, not FOR the Pre-OT.

# RJ 2010-03-15 02:33
Yeah they should call it the six month sec check.

Ron would have never got 'em because they never existed as such at that time.

As I wrote they were just a "check" to see if the case was running well.

Solo auditors need cramming and correction every once in a while just like regular auditors.

Also a Solo Auditor may hit the EP and bypass it.

Things like that can happen.

The six month check like every other action in the Church has been perverted into something else.

In fact its become Flags stable income!

Forget about case cracking, which used to be Flag's specialty.

Since tough cases are no longer welcome at the Mecca of Technical Deception.

Forget about the L's, since there are very few XIIs left to deliver them.

Or any of the other Flag Rundowns, since they aren't training any auditors any more.

Their "bread and butter" is these Sec Checks.

That way they can rack up the hours and charge for accommodations.

It has nothing to do with handling cases anymore.

Pretty soon Flag will be as desolate as every other org on the planet.

I just re-read this excellent post Steve, thank you for posting this.

There is absolutely nothing that infuriates me more in all of Scientology than the way David Mayo has been treated.
Minerva could have made the "Marcus Brutus" page on the criminality of Miscavige to Mayo.
Miscavige is the ultimate Brutus and Brute.
David Mayo was an exemplary Scientologist. He was a gentleman. He had honor.
He saved LRH's life. He was a monumental CS and a stellar SO member.
Examine David Mayo's conduct and products in Tech against the savage brutality of DM who beats, punches, humiliates, screams, dominates, throws temper tantrums and uses abusive language.

Now please compare the language, the manners, the tone and intent of a David Miscavige dispatch compared to Steve Hall's posting above.
WARNING: Foul Language
(Mike Rinder and others have confirmed the foulest vilest unconscionable language used by this "religious leader" is a daily occurrence.
Miscavige carries on like a Thug in a Drug Cartel.

Miscavige is reported to have asked Tommy Davis to tell the Catholic Editors that he was equivalent to the POPE

If we don't get something hot out this month everyone will be at the fucking AAC. Knock off the bullshit about doing an LRH cassette, NOBODY falls for them since xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I don't care how good the actor is or how much Horwhich worked it over with the Fairlite - a cassette just won't cut it. First far too many people said last year's didn't sound like the old man and if they SAID it how many do you suppose THOUGHT it wasn't him? Too goddam many. Second I don't care how good the actor is, some asshole gets the idea of a voice print and were fucked. It's got to be a VIDEO and I don't care how long these guys have been up they work arounf the fucking clock until its DONE. Third too many public think he's dead or ill or of the lines and ONLY A VIDEO WILL convince them otherwise. Four, public are going to the Fucking AAC in droves and that bastard Prices magazine with mission stats is all over the world.

Get the old video clips of the old man - use ones where he's lips aren't facing the screen, looking away or looking down or you'l never PLS it. Thrown in some footage of him yelling.
Pat says not to edit the pix to the sound - edit the sound to the pix - makes it more authentic that way. Dub the SMASH THE SQUIRRELS onto the video clips (NOT the New Year message) its got to look like R's personally denouncing them.
Get tht video done and to me and Pat IMMEDIATELY and it had better be good and convincing, if anyone so much as suspects its not the old man i's your neck.
The Xmas/New Year message goes out on cassettee not video cos the suckers will believe it if they've already seen a video of him and thinks it is a PT one.
The botton line is if Mayo or any of the fucking squirrels are still in operation your ass is grass and everyone who worked on this pjt will be out for eternity and I mean for goddam EVER...Get it? (There's tapes where R says "David Mayo" - Horwich knows some so you can get all text in his voice.)

War and Peace -- For sure DM is the Tony Montana of Scientology, however I don't think this dispatch is valid. Myself and two other Int staff who would know have never heard of this dispatch and we think it's a fake.

Thoughtful ~~

Did you examine the link ?

http://www.freezone.org/reports/e_ssqpjt.htm

Did you see the document ?

I am more than familiar with dispatches from "Special Projects Ops" over a considerable period of time and I do not believe this is forgery.

I will ask Larry Brennan to weigh in. He received much communication from "Special Project Ops" = David Miscavige.

I agree with you Thoughtful Steve.

I worked on the "Squirrel Busters" Project and there was never any effort by RTC to get Ron's imprimatur on it.

It was totally RTC's show!

Just like the Mission Holders Conference in San Francisco two years earlier.

One purpose was to show the public that RTC could hold the technical line against "squirrels" and Mayo's AAC was a primary target.

So I personally doubt if such a dispatch existed.

Problem with the internet, is that its so easy to forge documents to support an agenda.

Also the current hagiography on Mayo is sometimes hard to take. He wasn't as virtuous as many people claim he now is.

David Miscavage perfected reverse Scientology. He has his own code and his own tr's. A Scientology auditer listens, but DM just pretends to listen. An auditor never evaluates or invalidates, DM always evaluates and invalidates. An auditor frees up charge, DM creates charge. Also, think of a churchie "ethics" officer under DM. These guys also pretend to listen, but they listen selectively for the purpose of assigning lower conditions. hat I am trying to describe is called Black Scientology, just like DM's practice of canceling clear certs, so that OTs could receive Black Dianetics.
I think we have spotted DM's game. Bingo!

So why is Marty so anti-Mayo? He seems convinced that Mayo wanted to ruin the church, or so says his blog if I remember correctly. When I read that I had to scratch my head and wonder.

# Thoughtful 2010-03-14 11:35
Asked Marty about Mayo today and this is what he said,

Quote:
Dear all,

Here are some facts to consider:

1. I read all the transcripts of LRH talking to Mayo after sessions from which the NOTS series was compiled.

2. David Mayo was not C/Sing LRH. LRH was C/Sing himself.

3. NOTs was compiled - but for grammatical clean ups - verbatim from the LRH transcripts.

Marty

Dan Koon and Sinar also knew Mayo and both said yesterday that Mayo was a decent man -- not an SP. I'm sure he had his faults, we all do.

The plus point here is that we have established the freedom to communicate with the data ourselves as Scientologists.

Steve, Thanks for the clarification. Always want to move toward truth. Towards increased ARC. Towards increased KRC. Towards a greater regard for our fellows.

Much love,
Michael

I have seen an earlier version of this text. There was a note in front, "(edited extracts published in the Journal of the Advanced Ability Centre, April 1985)"
There are some lectures of David Mayo from his AAC Sunday talks in the net and there are also videos on Youtube. They are worth watching. To see his warmth and ARC has handled for me all the noise I had heard or read about him on the "official" lines before.

I am going to try to help you guys understand something about DM.
First, LRH said that any datum is as valuable as it has been evaluated.
LRH also said that a datum could be evaluated by comparing it to a datum of comparable magnitude.
So I would suggest that you look up the word insane in your own dictionary, and find the definition that would apply to a crazy person.
Then, try to think of a few examples of DM using reverse Dianetics to handle people at Gold, and a few examples of DM putting Clears on NED, or you could look at the similarity betweed DM's handling of Lisa McPhearson and Nancy Many.
At this point, you might be in denial.
Next, you should rent 3 movies, "Silence of the Lambs", "Hannibal", and "Manhunter".
You might get nightmares, but you should at least be able to understand DM by the time you have watched the movies.
Then, you should read what LRH has to say about the anti-social person. And remember, hindsight really is 20/20.

Thanks Steve for the post.

You can't write this stuff in a film script...no one would believe you.

Seems to me Mayo has the upper OT levels in his possession.

How do we get Mayo to return and wear his tech hat once again?

Thanks Steve, I also found the Mayo's audio to what you wrote. It is from a talk around '83 - '84. Here is the link.

http://tinyurl.com/399r95

Another thing that I found interesting to listen to and seems appropriate to the Independents was a talk on dissalusionment. I don't have the link but it can be found through You Tube search: David Mayo, A talk on dissolussionment - Parts 1 - 4.

Each part is about 10 minutes but it was worthwhile listening. It is very interesting to observe the difference in beingness of Mayo and DM.

I'm going to weight in with a bit of my own personal observation dating from 1977-1983.

David Mayo wasn't warm and fuzzy. He never spoke to anyone that I ever saw. He and John Eastment would stand in the elevator together and never even look at each other.

I thought this was beyond weird; having come from CCLA - where honest openness and friendliness was the way.

Merrill Mayo audited Yvonne when she was dying. David Mayo was the CS. Not long after that he started a relationship with Julie (forgot her last name). I believe they are currently married. Not sure what happened to Merrill.

Fast forward -- Bill Franks - ED Int - blew - around 1983 -- Mayo came to see Franks -- didn't salvage him.

Not much after that I believe Mayo was declared - started his own group and the rest became squirrel history. Before starting his own group he connected up with Bent Corydon (both ole New Zealanders or Aussies).

Is Mayo an SP? No -- I don't think so. And yes, he's been horribly maligned. And yes, he didn't deserve it. But, he's no warm and fuzzy.

(next to dm EVERYONE is warm and fuzzy)

But as RJ stated above -- the hagiography is bizarre. (good word BTW had to look it up :-)

I totally agree with your assessment WH, though I never met the man personally. I did have my own personal run in with him regarding a technical point that I did an Orders Query on per the PL.

Any way there was none of the viscousness that the current organization manifests when questioned about their infallibility.

None of the strained efforts to get me to "agree" with a blatantly illegal order by force feeding me snippets of various references in Qual that kinda sorta justify their overt and then being subjected to "ethics" when I continued to be "disaffected" or whatever.

No, the whole matter was handled exactly per the PL and after the Ol'man got into the debate we found out that I was right to query him and the order was cancelled.

So Mayo wasn't perfect. None of us are.

And if he had have been handled standardly as personally requested by Ron. Instead of being forced to run around a tree in the blazing California sun for 10-15 hours a day. He might have been salvaged and we wouldn't be having this discussion.

So current management (not just Miscavige) to a large degree is responsible for laying the foundation for the Advanced Ability Center, Ron's Org, the Freezone and various other squirrel groups at the time due to their own intransigence.

Isn't it interesting how they have snapped terminals with the former enemies they themselves created?

Now what organization is the biggest squirrel group on the planet?

A rhetorical question.

Since we all know the answer to that.

As the old saying goes. It takes one to know one.

This article was originally published in The Journal of the Advanced Ability Centre April 1985 by David Mayo. I reprinted it in the very first issue of the FREE THETA in January 2005, 20 years later as a mark of respect for David Mayo. (This issue can be downlaoded form the IFA website)

I seems to have done the rounds since then but, of course, loses nothing in the retelling.

As has been pointed, out it speaks volumes that LRH would entrust David Mayo with his life.
