There was ONE event..

I recall there was one event that was a truly theta experience (after The Overlord shut up and got off stage). It was an LRH Birthday Event (don't remember what year) at the Shrine. All staff were told NOT to reg the public for ANYTHING. It was just a chance for local Scientologists to hang around after the event, be in the company of and socialize with other Scientologists. There were sitting areas set up complete with comfy couches, coffee tables, nice rugs and even some ferns, all of which provided a comfortable (and safe from regging) environment. There was no "staff" or "public". It was just Scientologists mingling with other Scientologists. Kind of what I picture the orgs in the old days were like. As I recall, the event was a huge success in terms of acceptance with the staff and public. It was actually enjoyable. Of course, no money was made so the next event was back to the newest release being shoved in your face and asked, "Cash or credit?"

I stopped going to them because it was a "regfest" afterwords of Tampa Org staff and other Sea Org types saying "You have to get the new release!" Imagine wading through 40 of these people as if you were in Zombieland wading through starving zombies. It was torturous.

Well said. Absolutely every piece of mail coming from CoS is about money. Sure they include a few LRH quotes but the bottom line is always, "we need more money"
